IMB celebrates the Best of the Best Awards with local businesses and broadcast partners WAVE FM/POWER FM.
Celebrating and promoting local business has never been more important than in 2020. IMB Bank’s continued sponsorships of the Business Chambers in the Illawarra, Shoalhaven and Sutherland Shire, and Illawarra Women in Business were joined this year by a new initiative: a partnership with regional radio network Grant Broadcasting to salute businesses of every stripe on the NSW South Coast, the Shoalhaven, the Southern Highlands and the Illawarra.
The “Best of the Best” ran for four weeks on WAVE FM and POWER FM and gave listeners a chance to nominate their favourite business in a variety of categories; the businesses could also nominate themselves. Aside from the kudos of nomination and winning, all nominated businesses who elected to receive an IMB Business Banking Health Check also went into a lucky prize draw to win $10,000 cash from IMB.
The winner, drawn from more almost 800 businesses entered, was announced on Monday November 22 on the POWER 94.9 FM Shoalhaven breakfast show. And (drumroll please) the winner was Perrin Plumbing.
Sue Perrin, who has run the Ulladulla-based family-owned business with husband Shaun since 1991, told POWER FM’s Andy and Kaley that the $10,000 could not have arrived at a better time.
“You wouldn’t believe how good that is. Our son Nathan is taking over from us soon, so that is going to start him off so well. That’s just amazing. This will be such a good start for him. This will enable him to buy more tools, invest in advertising – I’m overwhelmed! Thank you so much.”
