Community groups and charities will have the chance to unlock their future potential, as the IMB Bank Community Foundation (ICF) has now open submissions for its 2020 funding program, worth $600,000.
Now in its 21st year, the ICF is looking to build on the $10 million-plus it has donated to NSW and ACT charities and community groups since 1999. A key focus will be projects which demonstrate tangible benefits for local communities in the years to come.
“IMB Bank’s Community Foundation is all about building strong, resilient, and forward-focused communities – which is at the heart of IMB’s core philosophy,” said Robert Ryan, IMB Bank CEO. “As a customer owned bank, we understand that the key to unlocking community potential can sometimes be simply a matter of combining a great idea and vision with financial support.”
Mr Ryan urges all community groups, not-for-profit organisations, and charities (big and small) to consider applying. “IMB Bank Community Foundation is tremendously proud to be able to help facilitate change at a grass roots level – we really are here to help.”
IMB Bank’s Community Foundation has a rich and diverse history of community engagement and improvement. Projects have ranged from the establishment of recycling programs and Men’s Sheds, through to public walkways, school gardens, youth driver training, mental health first aid training, equipment for volunteer rescue services and increased security for victims of domestic violence. IMB Bank is the longest standing mutual in NSW and RFi Group’s Best Mutual Bank of the Year in 2018. Its Community Foundation program is considered one of the best of its kind in Australia.
“Every year the ICF committee is amazed by the achievements of hard-working individuals within the community – the ‘feel good’ factor is tangible,” said Robert Ryan. “The innovative projects and community initiatives that we see through ICF give us all a great sense of optimism. We’re very excited for the future.”
Applications close on February 28, 2020. Community groups can apply online here.
