Windale Men's Shed and Community Group

Accessible Mitre Saw Workstation

Hunter, NSW

Windale Men’s Shed and Community Group’s Accessible Mitre Saw Workstation project will create an electrically height-adjustable bench, enabling members who use wheelchairs or walking frames to cut timber safely and independently. A 2026 IMB Bank Community Foundation grant will support new timber worktops and a replacement mitre saw, working with an existing adjustable frame and available steel to deliver a practical, cost-effective upgrade. The workstation will reduce physical barriers, improve workshop safety and allow more members to take part in woodworking projects. By supporting independence, participation and activity, the project will strengthen inclusion, confidence and connection within the Shed community.
