Australian Association of the Order of Malta

The Australian Association of the Order of Malta’s Community Care Vans support people experiencing homelessness in Sydney, Melbourne and Parramatta. Volunteer drivers visit locations where people sleep rough, distributing practical items that protect health, comfort and dignity throughout the year. In summer, supplies include water, sun hats and sunscreen; in winter, volunteers provide specially designed showerproof Coats for the Homeless. Hygiene packs containing toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap and sanitary products are also available year-round. An IMB Bank Community Foundation grant will help fund these essential supplies and van operations, enabling volunteers to continue offering practical assistance, conversation and compassionate connection.
