Shire Bands

From beginners learning their first notes to experienced players exploring new repertoire, The Shire Bands welcomes musicians into five friendly, non-competitive ensembles. Fifteen purpose-designed orchestral chairs will support better posture and easier breathing, helping wind players rehearse and perform more comfortably. The seating will benefit adult learners, returning musicians and established players across the group’s weekly programs. Funding from the Foundation will purchase the chairs, improving comfort and technique during longer sessions. The upgrade will help members enjoy music-making, build skills and sustain performances that bring varied styles of music to local events, facilities and audiences throughout the Sutherland Shire.
