Etoile Foundation

Before children experience their first period, clear, positive information can replace uncertainty with confidence. The Étoile Foundation is an Australian menstrual health charity working to ensure every girl grows up informed, prepared and free from period stigma. Its illustrated children’s book, Stella’s First Period, and accompanying activity book introduce menstruation, body changes and body confidence in an engaging, age-appropriate way for children aged seven to 10. The resources also give parents, carers and educators a simple starting point for open, informed conversations at home and school. A Foundation grant will support publication and distribution, bringing Étoile’s menstrual education and sustainably minded approach to a new generation. By helping children understand their bodies before periods begin, the project will reduce stigma, strengthen confidence and support conversations across families, classrooms and communities.
