For many Year 11 students, learning to drive brings freedom, responsibility and unfamiliar risks. U Turn the Wheel gives students from 10 Camden high schools a practical day of road-safety education, using interactive sessions and real-life experiences to examine speeding, distraction, fatigue, seatbelts, drugs and alcohol, road rules, vehicle care and sharing roads with heavy vehicles. With an IMB Bank Community Foundation grant, the program equips young people to recognise danger, make safer choices and influence their peers. By building habits before participants become independent drivers, Rotary Club of Camden aims to reduce road trauma and help everyone travel safely.
