Cancer care is not experienced equally. The Australian Centre for Cancer Equity’s Cancer Survivorship Support for Priority Communities project will work with culturally and linguistically diverse, First Nations, refugee and socioeconomically disadvantaged communities to co-design more inclusive survivorship support. It will improve access to trusted information, screening, early detection and care while strengthening the capability of health professionals to respond to diverse needs. Based in Southwestern Sydney, the initiative will develop and evaluate evidence-based approaches that can be scaled beyond the region. Its goal is to ensure people can navigate cancer and life after treatment with confidence and dignity.
