Halekulani Community Library’s Large Print, Local Authors and Community Reading Project will refresh and broaden its collection for readers across the Central Coast. Foundation funding will purchase contemporary large-print books, works by local authors and a diverse selection of novels reflecting members’ interests. The volunteer-run library offers free membership and maintains more than 3,500 leisure-reading titles, providing an accessible, welcoming place for people to discover books and connect through reading. Detailed borrowing records will guide purchasing decisions, helping volunteers select popular and relevant titles. The project will improve choice, support readers with vision needs and celebrate local authors and stories.
