With Foundation funding, George Cross Falcons Community Centre will create an inclusive community garden where people of all ages can learn to grow fresh vegetables and take produce home. The garden will complement the Centre’s free programs, which bring residents together through social activities, shared meals, cultural events, craft and volunteering. Established to support Maltese migrants settling in the Illawarra, the Centre now welcomes the wider community while maintaining strong cultural connections. By encouraging practical skills, healthy eating and participation, the project will foster intergenerational learning, reduce social isolation and give volunteers and families a rewarding way to contribute, connect and belong.
