Emerge & See

The Next Shift is a trauma-informed, peer-led program supporting injured, transitioning and former emergency service workers and volunteers across NSW and the ACT. Created by emergency service personnel, it recognises that recovery and growth are not linear and should be guided by individual readiness. Participants can access contributor, recruitment, education and entrepreneur pathways, supported by mentoring and practical guidance. Building on Emerge STRONG, the program helps people rebuild identity, confidence, capability and wellbeing, re-engage safely with learning or work, and pursue sustainable employment or enterprise aligned with their values. It also reduces isolation and supports meaningful participation in civilian life.
