Life in Bloom brings older Australians living with dementia together through shared experiences in nature. Developed collaboratively by Community Gateway, the program combines therapeutic horticulture, guided walks, art therapy and garden tours, helping participants stay active, explore familiar interests and form new connections in a welcoming environment. With support from the IMB Bank Community Foundation, the program will create more opportunities for meaningful participation, independence and choice. Time spent gardening, creating and exploring can stimulate the senses, encourage movement and conversation, and strengthen confidence and belonging. These activities also support mental, physical and emotional wellbeing, while nurturing renewed purpose and joy.
