12 May 2025 – Applications are open for the IMB Bank Community Foundation's 2025grant program, with not-for-profit organisations invited to apply to share in funding of over $700,000.
IMB Bank’s grant program comes at avital time with the high cost-of-living, increased homelessness, and environmental challenges among the issues facing communities.
For over 25 years, the IMB Bank Community Foundation has funded more than 1,000 projects, with over $12 million in grants to local not-for-profit organisations helping to build better, brighter communities.
In 2025, the IMB Bank Community Foundation will prioritise and fund a wide variety of important projects across six key themes: social, environmental, cultural, educational, community development, and community connection.
Robert Ryan, IMB Bank Chief Executive, said IMB is investing in what matters to its members and their communities.
"We know many people are doing it tough, especially given current cost-of-living pressures, and our community and charity organisations are finding it harder than ever to raise the funds they need to deliver essential programs and resources. That's why it’s vital we continue to provide funding support to community organisations, and the local heroes committing their time, energy, and expertise, to deliver tangible, positive change where we live and work.”
In 2024, the IMB Bank Community Foundation funded 58 diverse projects. The initiatives funded ranged from supporting those who have experienced domestic violence that are rebuilding their lives, to suicide prevention programs, improving our environment, providing free eye checks and glasses to the homeless, and strengthening the bonds of community.
Jann Gardner, IMB Community Foundation Chair, emphasised the Foundation's commitment to responding to evolving community needs.
"What makes our Foundation unique is how we've evolved alongside the communities we serve and address the most pressing challenges of the day.
“The impact of the 1,000+ projects we’ve funded extends far beyond the initial investment. Whether it is inspiring people to better heart health, improving community facilities and environmental programs to supporting vulnerable people to build new lives, we've seen small grants spark significant, enduring change to make our communities more empowered, connected, inclusive and sustainable.”
Applying for a grant is simple and not-for-profit organisations throughout the Illawarra, Greater Sydney, ACT, Newcastle, and Melbourne are encouraged to apply.
Applications for 2025 are now open and close on 15 June 2025. Find out more and apply.
