Scam Activity Alert

May 19, 2026

We are currently aware of scam activity across the banking industry where fraudsters use fake “rewards points expiring” messages to create urgency and direct people to a false website designed to capture login details. This includes a fake IMB website currently online. It appears as below.

If you see this website, DO NOT input any personal details. Stay cautious with any unexpected communication, even if it at first appears legitimate.

Scams like this can appear across everyday channels — including texts, emails, social media, online ads, and phone calls.

If in doubt, stop and check before clicking links, sharing details or making payments.

• Take your time. Don’t let anyone pressure you into acting immediately.

• Verify independently. If something doesn’t feel right, contact the business or organisation using official contact details.

• Be alert to red flags. Watch for unexpected requests, urgent language, unusual links, spelling mistakes, changed link or payment details.

• Act quickly if you’re concerned. If you think you may have shared information or made a payment to a scammer, contact IMB immediately.
