You can find out how to reset your password and get tips on how to create a strong password from our website at www.imb.com.au/faq/how-do-i-reset-my-password, or call us on 133 462 between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday, or between 9am and 4pm on Saturday.
Select a password that has no connection to you (for example, do not use pet names, or nicknames), is lengthy and contains a mixture of alphabetical, numeric and special characters so that is more difficult to guess. Your Internet Banking password must include at least:
One uppercase letter (A – Z)
One lowercase letter (a – z)
One number (0 – 9)
One special character (such as !, @, #, $, %, etc.)
Your Internet Banking password must include at least 8 characters
We’ve updated our Internet Banking password rules to help protect your account and personal information.
Strong and complex passwords are harder to guess and crack, reducing the risk of unauthorised access to your bank account(s), so you can bank online with more confidence. It’s part of our ongoing commitment to help our members stay safe online.
Your current Internet Banking password still works, and you don’t have to change it. If you do change your password in future you will need to adhere to the new rules. For stronger protection, we recommend updating your password to meet IMB’s new security standards.
If you already have Push Notifications enabled, you don’t need to do anything – alerts will appear in your IMB Mobile App automatically. If not, enable Push Notifications from your phone settings.
Payment authorisation notifications for Multi-to-Sign transactions will now be sent directly from your IMB Mobile App where you have enabled. When a transaction requires your approval, you’ll receive a push notification. Tap the alert to review the details and choose to approve or decline the transaction.
We want to empower you with the knowledge to stay vigilant, protect your finances and act quickly if you suspect you’ve been targeted.
