Financial hardship is when you are having trouble paying your debts, such as your bills, home loan, credit card or general expenses.
Financial hardship can happen to anyone and is not always related to a particular life event or change in circumstances. Some examples of when financial hardship can happen are:
If your financial situation has changed or you are unable to meet your repayments, you can apply for Hardship Assistance – a temporary change to your loan repayments to give you a chance to get back on your feet financially.
We will assess your circumstances and if it’s appropriate, we may be able to help by, for example, providing a temporary reduction or deferral of your repayments.
