IMB Bank is pleased to confirm that having received a Development Consent for the construction of a proposed new head office premises, it has today completed the purchase of the development site at 47 Burelli Street, Wollongong.
Works at the site have commenced, and as previously announced, City Investments Pty Ltd has been appointed to oversee the development and construction of a purpose built head office under a maximum sum building contract ($36m), with occupancy targeted to occur in early 2020. City Investments Pty Ltd’s related entity, Piruse Constructions Pty Ltd has been appointed as principal contractor.
Having first commenced operating in the Illawarra in 1880, the Board is proud that IMB Bank will continue to have an iconic presence in this region at the same time as growth into new areas of NSW is pursued.

The building will accommodate employees currently working from the Bank’s Crown St office, and the consolidation of operations spread over multiple locations, with capacity for future growth. IMB’s flagship full-service branch will remain located in the Crown Street mall, however client meeting rooms and retail banking facilities will also be available at the new site.
