The IMB Personal chequebook+ is a 35-leaf book for your personal use. It can be linked to any IMB Everyday account and can be used wherever personal cheques are accepted.

The chequebook is convenient for times when access to your account is limited in areas where electronic banking services may not always be available

How a cheque works

Once you write a cheque, the person or business you make the cheque payable to will deposit it into their account. Once a cheque has been presented by the person or business, the cheque is returned to IMB for verification and approval. If everything is in order, IMB will withdraw the money from your account and authorise payment to the person or business that deposited the cheque.

Cheques are subject to a clearance time of a minimum 3 business days once they are deposited into an account. Some cheques however may require a minimum 7 – 10 day clearance time under certain circumstances.

EFTPOS lets you have fast and convenient access to your money when making purchases at shops, restaurants and other merchants. Available with any IMB Card, EFTPOS allows you to save on fees and time by withdrawing any cash you might need while purchasing.
