Close to 10,000 junior footballers and their referees and 2800 netballers are benefiting in 2017 thanks to the generosity of IMB Bank.

For the second year, IMB Bank has sponsored the Football South Coast season and this year, it has also given sponsorship dollars to the Illawarra District Netball Association.

CEO Robert Ryan said the funding was in addition to other community sponsorships and the $500,000 IMB Bank Community Foundation donates each year to the areas in which it operates.

“Participation by young people in sports – particularly team sports – is a great way for them to learn life skills that will benefit them as they leave school and enter the workforce.

“IMB Bank has an ongoing commitment to giving back to the community and we are delighted to be involved in both football and netball this year,” he said.

Football South Coast CEO Ann-Marie Balliana welcomed IMB Bank’s commitment as the season prepares to kick off.

“We are very grateful for IMB Bank’s support again in 2017 and delighted with our association with such a key business organisation,” she said.

Illawarra District Netball Association President, Dianne Elvy, welcomed IMB Bank’s financial assistance in one of the fastest growing membership sports amongst girls and young women in the region.

“Registrations increase each year and that means we need additional funds to accommodate everyone who wants to play. We thank IMB Bank for helping us this year and hope this is the beginning of a long-term partnership,” she said.

The netball and football seasons begin on 1 April 2017.
